Thank You!

My last class done now at Stoke Recreation Centre.  Just to thank all the staff at there at Stoke who have helped with the running of the centre over the years I have been teaching yoga there.  It sure will be strange to not teach there anymore, given that is where I started teaching in 2004, and in fact, where I started my journey in yoga in 2001/2002.


My thanks also to all of my dedicated students who have supported the class at Stoke Recreation Centre over the years, without whom there would be no class there.


My class will continue at Penkhull Village Hall next Thursday (7th April 2011)!

A New Venue has been Found!

The yoga class lives on!  Much to my delight, and I’m sure everyone who currently attends the yoga class at Stoke Recreation Centre, this week I have confirmed the new location of the Thursday night yoga class!  The new location is,

For those of you who are not aware, my current Thursday night yoga classes are having to be relocated due to the closure of Stoke Recreation Centre, Booth Street, Stoke.  For several weeks I have enquired at many places for continuation of the yoga class on a Thursday night, at the same time - a priority for me and everyone who attends.  Most places could not accommodate Thursday nights, but Penkhull could!


As previously mentioned, there will be a marginal increase in class fees to reflect running costs and rent which I will now incur, with the class being privately (as opposed to council) run.  Consequently, fees have been increased to £5.00 for the session.


I know some people will object to the fees increase, but I feel I have done my best to be fair whilst realistic in being able to continue the class privately.  The reality is that we have all been very lucky to have had the class so cheap at Stoke Recreation Centre, being council run.  On the positive side, the increase in fees will enable me to invest in purchasing some additional yoga mats for (hopefully) storage at Penkhull, along with foam blocks etc.  Additionally, with the fees increasing, there will now be refreshments (tea, coffee, light snacks) available in the kitchen at Penkhull for everyones comfort.


We have the room at Penkhull from 7 to 9pm, but I will keep the starting times for my class the same as they currently are: 7.15 - 8.45pm.  Please feel free though to arrive at 7pm and get a cuppa before we start at 7.15pm!


My last class at Stoke will be Thursday 31st March, and the class will continue at the same time at Penkhull Village Hall on Thursday 7th April 2011 at 7.15 - 8.45pm!

Stoke Recreation Centre to Close

I have had confirmation that Stoke Recreation Centre is to definitely close at the end of this month (31st March 2011).


The yoga class will definitely run for the next 4 weeks at Stoke Recreation Centre, but there is uncertainty whether the class will run on Thursday 31st March, which will mark the end of the financial year and the last day of business for Stoke Recreation Centre.


Please watch this space for further updates which will be provided as soon after I have the information.


I am looking around for future venues locally, ideally keeping the same day (Thursday) and time (19:15-20:45), and will let everyone know if I can get anything definite as soon as possible.  Additionally, if anyone knows of local centres (Stoke area) that may be suitable for the yoga class, please let me know as soon as possible.
